Signature Programs & Events

Stork’s Nest is a 46-year-old partnership between Zeta Phi Beta and March of Dimes. Stork’s Nest is a community-based, prenatal, health promotion program for low-income pregnant women. The program is designed to promote prenatal care participation and healthy behaviors during pregnancy through two components-incentives and education. Stork’s Nest clients “earn” points toward incentives, such as maternity or baby care items, through a variety of positive, health-promoting activities; attending prenatal care appointments, participating in prenatal education classes, keeping appointments for well-baby visits,, etc. Thousands of women are serviced at Stork’s Nest all over the country every year.

Zetas Helping Other People Excel was approved at the 2008 National Boule as the National Service Program of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. An interactive holistic multidimensional outreach program designed to enhance, cultivate and empower participants to develop health promoting lifestyle choices across the lifespan. Specific to the population groups; Women, Youth, Seniors, Men, and International Women of Color. Z-HOPE will be implemented across the United States and in selected International countries.
Chapters are encouraged to collaborate with existing community organizations and resources to provide optimal quality programs that provide maximum impact.

Annual Community Baby Shower

In accordance with the mission of Stork’s Nest, Chi Theta Zeta provides an Annual Community Baby Shower to the community that engages the community in resources for families of expectant mothers and children in lieu of not having a physical site to host a Stork’s Nest location. For the last 10 years, Chi Theta Zeta has held this program yearly providing free diapers, baby and children’s clothing, and access to resources from partnering organizations such as Stork’s Nest, Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition, City of Tallahassee Police Department and many more.
